Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, Cranbrook

The passenger train helped establish Canada's west and nowhere
is that fact better reflected than in this wonderful museum.
A complete luxury train from 1929 - the 'Golden Age' of
Rail Travel is on display. The 'Trans Canada Limited' cost
a fortune to build and was the ultimate in luxury. See the
high standards of service that were offered and sample afternoon
tea in a plush business car. There is also an original railway
station on display.

Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park
In
1932, Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Park, in Canada,
were designated Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
The park preserves over 1,000,000 acres
of forests, alpine meadows and lakes. Its diverse habitats
are home to more than 70 species of mammals and over 260
species of birds. The spectacular glaciated landscape is
a hikers paradise containing 700 miles of maintained trails
that lead deep into one of the largest intact ecosystems
in the lower 48 states.
In 1932, Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Park, in Canada,

Elizabeth
Lake Sanctuary, Cranbrook B.C.
Elizabeth Lake Sanctuary attracts many
different species of ducks, song birds and Canada Geese.
This area provides a safe place for the birds, as well as
animals such as moose, deer, and painted turtles.
Kootenay Trout Hatchery
6 million baby trout are produced each
year at the Kootenay Trout Hatchery. The Cutthroat, Rainbow,
and Brook species of trout are all raised here, and this
hatchery is the second largest in British Columbia.
